A master calendar of all campus activities is maintained in the Student Union Services Office. All recognized Student Organizations may schedule, sponsor, or hold activities using school facilities, property and buildings. You can also visit the Campus Calendar for the latest listing of activities and events.
When planning a Student Organization sponsored activity on-or-off campus, you must first complete a Campus Activity Request and turn it in to the Student Life Office. Student Life will then contact Student Union Services to check availability and schedule the requested room. You will be notified of any changes. The Campus Activity Request ensures that campus areas involved with the activity will be notified and the proper number of sponsors will be present.
All Student Organization sponsored activities must have an OSU Institute of Technology faculty or staff sponsor present, and large activities must have at least two sponsors present (excluding Campus Police).
All campus bulletin boards are available for use by individuals and student organizations for posting approved advertisements. However, the Student Life Office must approve all advertisements. All unapproved advertisements will be removed from the bulletin boards. Please do not post advertisements on walls, doors or other surfaces.
Students and the Student Life Office team up to make having fun a tradition at OSU Institute of Technology. Each new semester brings a variety of traditional long-standing events.
The semester starts off with our Fall Welcome Back lunch where free food is served and the local community sets up booths showing students what Okmulgee offers. The Fall Carnival is a long-standing tradition and takes place in early October. All campus organizations set up carnival booths to entice you to play a game of chance, jail a friend (or foe), eat, design a T-shirt, order some jewelry or just visit. The children's Christmas Party involves the entire campus. Student clubs and organizations get together to plan, promote and implement the activities. In addition to the children of OSU Institute of Technology students and staff, children from the community are invited to come meet Santa and join in the fun.
The Winter Welcome Back lunch features fun and warm activities to take off the January chill. Whether it's a scavenger hunt, a dance, or a wacky welcome party, everyone has a great time. Spring Fest is a week filled with fun and merriment. Activities include the Spring Fest Games, Student Appreciation Day, Noon Tunes, and a variety of other activities that are geared to serve our students' interest.
The Summer Welcome Back lunch launches with activities geared to get you in the mood for sun. Now you see why we say fun is a tradition at OSU Institute of Technology!
Educational opportunities don't end when class is over. Student Life, in cooperation with many other campus offices, offers a variety of seminars, speakers, videotapes and opportunities for informal discussion on current "hot" topics.
