The admission policies of OSU-Okmulgee are those approved by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education on Admission to and Transfer Among Oklahoma Colleges and Universities of the State System.
Students will be admitted in one of the following status:
High School Graduates-Graduates from accredited high schools are eligible for admission provided they:
- Submit an Application for Admission
- Participate in the American College Testing Program (ACT)
- Submit an official eight-semester high school transcript
- Participate in Accuplacer CPT as explained under Academic Profiling
Individuals 18 years of age or older who are not high school graduates are eligible for admission provided
- The high school class they would have graduated with, has graduated
- They submit an Application for Admission
- They submit official transcripts of previous academic history including a GED if taken
- They participate in the American College Testing Program (ACT)
- Participate in Accuplacer CPT as explained under Academic Profiling
A transfer student is an undergraduate student with greater than six attempted credit hours, excluding developmental (0-level) courses and credit hours accumulated by concurrently enrolled students.
Individuals who have enrolled in one or more colleges prior to enrollment at OSU-Okmulgee must provide the following documentation depending upon the number of hours completed at previous colleges:
Transfer students are eligible for admission provided they:
- Submit an Application for Admission
- Participate in the American College Testing Program (ACT)
- Submit an official high school transcript
- Submit official college transcripts from each college attended
- Participate in Accuplacer CPT as explained under Academic Profiling
Transfer students are eligible for admission provided they:
- Submit an Application for Admission
- Submit official college transcripts from each college attended
- May participate in Accuplacer CPT depending on transcript evaluations
A transfer student will be admitted on Academic Probation if he or she fails to meet the following criteria:

Transfer students admitted on probation must maintain a 2.0 GPA each semester while on probation and raise their cumulative GPA to 2.0 to be removed from Academic Probation.
D. Transfer of Credit - Transcripts from other institutions are evaluated and recorded by Admissions and Records on the student's permanent record. An individual who is currently enrolled and has satisfactorily completed a nationally recognized proficiency examination, has previous occupational experience or other relevant and documented experience, can request advanced standing credit through one of the following means:
- Advanced Standing Credit: Proficiency tests are developed and administered by the department responsible for the course offering.
- Military Experience: Advanced standing credit for military experience is based on criteria and recommendations contained in publications of the American Council on Education in accordance with Oklahoma State Regents For Higher Education Policy.
Advanced standing credit awarded to a student must be validated by successful completion of twelve or more semester hours of academic work at OSU-Okmulgee. All credit earned through advanced standing shall be so designated ADV ST on the transcript following the course entry.
Students who have attended OSU-Okmulgee previously, but have not attended within the past two semesters must:
- submit an Application for Admission, and
- submit official transcripts of any college work attempted since the last date of attendance at OSU-Okmulgee.
Students who wish to enroll in courses without intending to pursue a degree may be permitted to enroll in up to nine credit hours without submitting academic credentials. This can be done by phone, mail, or in person. Once a student has successfully completed nine credit hours, regular admission is required.
Adults admitted under this provision are required to meet academic performance or curricular standards prior to admission. Requirements for entry are that the student must be 21 years of age or older or on active military duty and submit the following information:
- Personal assessment of education preparation for the intended educational objective by completing the required secondary assessments
- Special job or work experience relative to the application
- Special licensing indicating personal progress
- Any available educational documents that may be useful in assessing probability of student success
A high school student may be enrolled in collegiate level courses provided he or she meets the requirements set forth on the Concurrent Enrollment Form available from the high school counselor. All concurrent students must submit ACT scores.
The following high school curricular requirements have been established for students seeking admission to Oklahoma colleges and universities:

- 4 English (Grammar, Composition, Literature)
- 2 Lab Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or any lab science certified by the school district)
- 3 Mathematics (Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Math Analysis, Calculus)
- 2 History (including 1 unit of American History)
- 1 Citizenship (from the subjects of Government, Geography, Economics, Non-Western Culture)
- 3 Other (from any of the subjects listed above or selected from the following: Computer Science, Foreign Language)
A resident of Oklahoma is one who has lived continuously in Oklahoma for at least 12 months duration and whose domicile is in Oklahoma. A person's domicile is his or her true, fixed, permanent home or habitation. It is the place where he or she intends to remain and to which he or she expects to return. When these two occur there is domicile. The burden of proof of residence status or domicile shall be upon the applicant. Students filing an appeal for re-classification of their residence status shall do so on forms provided in the Office of Admissions and Records.
All students who enroll in a program, enroll in nine or more credit hours or have successfully completed at least nine credit hours at OSU-Okmulgee participate in entry academic profiling. The profiling instrument, Accuplacer CPT, evaluates academic performance in reading, sentence skills, arithmetic, elementary algebra and college level math. The Accuplacer CPT is an untimed, multiple choice, nationally recognized profiling instrument.
The scores earned on Accuplacer CPT identify advanced performance levels, as well as deficient performance levels. Students who score at an advanced performance level qualify for advanced standing credit or further performance measurement. Students who score at a deficient performance level will be advised of the various methods available for satisfying the deficiency.
Unless otherwise specified by program requirements, students must remove curricular deficiencies within the first 24 semester credit hours attempted. Students may enroll in collegiate level courses within the deficiency's discipline area only after the deficiency is satisfied.

Persons admitted for enrollment may register during the period shown on the official school calendar of operation (see inside front cover). Additional information can be obtained through the Office of Admissions and Records.
The Office of Admissions and Records staff provides students with career information and academic advisement. The enrollment process for all new students starts with this office. Academic advisors assist all students with the enrollment process including outlining and monitoring individual plans of study. Students should review their academic progress each semester with an advisor.
Late Enrollment - Initial enrollment for a semester will not be permitted after the first three days of classes of that semester.
Pre-Enrollment - Currently enrolled students in good standing may pre-enroll for the subsequent semester during the pre-enrollment period.
