Meeting Minutes 7pm, July 5th, 2005
- President- James began meeting with a reminder about Election of Officers- still need to find a Vice President and floor presidents.
- James introduced Secretary- Sara and Treasurer- Mike.
- Kathy motioned to delegate the President to find the VP.
- 2nd by Sara
- Group approved
- Volleyball Saturday July 9th from 2-6pm
- Tosha to do the flyers for this activity
- Trying to have Car Wash July 16th
- James will be checking with Autozone
- Greg says organizations have held them there before
- Randal motioned that 50% of the profits go to the Battered Women's Shelter
- Group approved
- Want to: July 29th, 30th, 31st- Camping at Okmulgee Lake
- John T said date conflicts w/ Senate activity
- Jeff volunteered to make flyers for camping trip
- Date moved to weekend of July 22nd
- James asked group for ideas for future activities
- Sara suggested reading books to kids in family housing
- People commented on lack of participation from parents/ low turnout
- Sara suggested hosting dance for local elementary school kids
- Questions Re: turnout, where to hold event, and monitoring of youth
- Tosha suggested Talent Show
- Greg suggested a Block party or hoe down
- Comments Re: low turnout.
- Greg discussed massive events put on by RHA is past years
- Comments Re: people now thinking it's "not cool"
- Kathy commented that it would look better trying to recruit people for activities if it came from residents that are not community assistance
- Jeff suggested volunteering at the new food bank
- Kathy said it'd be a very humbling experience
- Jeff said he could call the guy at the food bank
- Suggestion that we could hold campus food drive for the food bank
- Sara motioned to end the meeting
- Randall 2nded
- Group approved and dispersed
