Article I - Name:
The name of this organization shall be: The Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee Future Chef's Association.
Article II - Location:
The offices of this organization shall be located at OSU-Okmulgee's Hospitality Services Department.
Article III - Objectives
The objectives of this organization are:
1. Uphold the honors and dignity of the hospitality profession; reinforce standards, fellowship and cooperation among students in or organization.
2. Work in cooperation with the ACF (American Culinary Federation) and enhance our networking capabilities.
Article IV - Membership Qualifications:
Membership is open to any student enrolled in the Hospitality Services Department at OSU-Okmulgee.
Article V - Government:
The governing body shall be controlled by the Executive Committee (advisors and officers) to be selected by the membership. The Executive Committee shall be governed by the rules and by-laws set forth in this constitution and by section XI of the student Rights and Responsibilities Governing Student Behavior.
Article VI - Officers:
The officers of this organization shall be:
President(s), Vice President, Secretary(s), Treasurer, Historian(s), Publicist(s), Sergeant of Arms, Advisor(s).
All officers will abide by the official Robert's Rules of Order and any club specified duties during terms.
Article VII - Election of Officers:
1. Elections will be held once a year in the spring trimester unless an officer(s) resigns or graduates as defined in Article VIII.
2. Nominations will be held the 2nd to the last meeting of said trimester.
3. Elections will be held at the last meeting of said trimester.
Article VIII - Graduation/Resignation/Impeachment of an Officer(s):
If an Officer graduate/ resigns:
1. Nominations will be held at the following meeting after the announcement has been made.
2. Elections for a new officer to fill the open chair will be held at the meeting immediately following the nomination session.
Impeachment of an Officer(s):
1. A petition must be drawn up with the full reason and explanation for the impeachment. The author of said petition may remain anonymous.
2. The petition must receive signatures from ¾ of the active members of the organization.
3. The petition must then be presented to the Executive Committee.
4. The petition must receive ¾ of the Executive Committee's approval.
5. The announcement of the impeachment and the office that is open must be brought to the members the following meeting.
Article IX - Active Members:
1. To be an active member you must be currently enrolled at OSU-Okmulgee.
2. To be an active member your dues must be paid by the deadline set forth by Section 2 of Article XII, unless it is their first trimester as an active member in which they get a waiver. (see Article XII, section iii)
3. To be an active member you must attend at the very least one meeting every two months.
Article X - Inactive Members:
Students who are currently not enrolled in one trimester at OSU-Okmulgee are inactive members. After one trimester, they must have special permission by ¾ of the officers to regain membership status. Inactive members are allowed to participate in any events if requirements are met.
Article XI - Amendments to the Constitution:
1. Amendments to the constitution may be proposed by 1/3 or more of the active members and the Executive Committee.
2. All new amendments must be documented in the meeting minutes.
3. The advisor(s) shall have power to veto any organization action that is contrary to university policy.
Article XII - Fulfillment of Business:
Any business started in one trimester shall be fulfilled by the organization membership and Executive Committee the following trimester until it is completed. (I.e. Pledges, donations, ECT.)
Article XII - Dues:
1. A payment of $5.00 per trimester will be taken as dues from all members, including the Executive Committee, who wish to stay active members on the roster.
2. The Dues must be paid to the Treasurer by the second meeting of the second month in each trimester to stay an active member.
3. New members get a waiver on dues for the first trimester that they join the organization, but the second trimester of active membership dues must be paid to remain an active member.
Article XIII - Student conduct:
All members and the Executive Committee, including officers and sponsors, will be held to the standards that have been set forth by the OSU-Okmulgee administration in the Students Rights and Responsibilities Governing Student Behavior (SRRGSB) handbook which is made known and given to each student in their cornerstone class. It is the students' responsibility to know the conduct that will not be tolerated as set forth in the SRRGSB. Members of the organization will be punished for violations of student conduct by the governing body according to the SRRGSB.
Article XIV - Alcohol Policy:
FCA as an organization acknowledges that our industry is inherently involved with the sales of alcohol and the learning of such alcohol. If FCA has a school sponsored activity that will include alcohol as a learning tool, (I.e. wine tasting, mixology, ect.) such activities will be limited to members whose age is that above the legal drinking age (21 and older). Activities that do not use alcohol as a learning tool shall be strictly zero-tolerance as set forth by the administration in the SRRGSB. Actions by individuals that do not adhere to this policy will be punished accordingly. (see Article XIII)
Article XV - Hours System:
1. Every hour that a member works will equal one hour.
2. All hours will be rounded to the nearest half hour. (rounding up)
3. Each club meeting will be worth one hour.
4. An Hour Committee Chairperson will be appointed for each organization event.
a. A chairperson will be in charge of each scheduled event
b. The chairperson will keep a sing-in sheet for the purposes of keeping a record of hours and times worked.
c. When the event is over, the chairperson will fill in the proper hours for the members that worked and also will be responsible for giving the secretary a copy to add to club records.
Article XVI - Organization Cooperation:
FCA works with the ACF, Skills USA (VICA), and any organization dealing with the club relations.
Article XVII - Awards:
Awards may be given at any time to any member by the advisor or sponsor upon their discretion.
