You must be a current or prospective student at OSU-Okmulgee. You also must have completed and signed the tutoring contract and filled out the request for tutoring form. Present your student I.D. card at the time of your session. I.D. is required for scanning in and out of the center.
Students must check in and out at the front desk of the TLC for each tutoring session.
Records of students receiving tutoring are kept confidential. Only the TLC director and staff may access the records.
If you cannot keep an appointment, you must call the center at least two hours prior to your absence.
While there is no limit on hours, students must understand they cannot be promised a dedicated tutor for an extended among of time. It is very possible that tutors may have to float among several students at a time.
All tutoring must be done in LRC Room 105 (Tutorial Learning Center) unless specifically authorized by the director of the tutorial center.
The Tutorial Learning Center is an environment where students can receive individualized assistance with class assignments or study skills. Behavior that disrupts the environment of the center will be not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, excessive talking, use of vulgar language, improper use of materials or equipment, or any behavior that disrupts others. The center is intended for studying and tutoring purposes only. While students are welcome to engage in conversation and feel at home, the center is not a place for social gatherings or naps.
Potential tutors must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 in the subjects they are tutoring and must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at OSU-Okmulgee.
Potential tutors must fill out a tutor application form and submit it to the Director of the Tutorial Center.
Tutors must have at least two recommendations from instructors or an employer.
Each potential tutor will be interviewed by the Center's Director and the staff.
