Overview
The Engineering Technologies Division currently offers both the Bachelor of Technology degree and the Associate in Applied Science degree. Students may pursue an A.A.S. in Engineering Technologies while specializing in at least one of four different areas: Electrical/Electronics, Design/Drafting, Manufacturing Technologies and Nano Scientific Instrumentation. Some specializations are structured such that students can pursue dual majors, often with little additional time on campus. Students may also pursue a Bachelor of Technology degree in either Civil Engineering Technology or Instrumentation Engineering Technology. Curriculum Philosophy
The Engineering Technologies Division utilizes an application - focused learning environment in which hands-on activities, using state-of-the-art equipment, emulate current industry practices and standards. This approach helps students learn strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. This also makes the knowledge being gained relevant to the student. By using this approach, the student experiences a higher level of information retention than through traditional lecture with little or no immediate application or relevance.
