Biography: Welcome to OSU-Okmulgee’s Construction Technology Plumbing Department. I am Bruce Roberts the plumbing instructor. In this program I will teach you to reach beyond just becoming an apprentice or journeyman. I will also focus on teaching the aspects required to become a contractor and business owner. My instructions will encompass learning the plumbing trade and how to start and operate a business. The business phase includes a business name, motto, logo, marketing, advertising, taxes, retirement avenues, diversity, etc. After I started my own plumbing business, which I still practice, I graduated from Northeastern State University with a BS in Environmental and Safety Management and a minor in Biology. I then went on to complete a MS in Industrial Management and I have pursued post graduate courses applying to a PhD in Business Organization and Management. I elected to remain a plumbing contractor because of the freedom and income it has provided me over the past eleven years. My position at OSU-Okmulgee has fulfilled another part of my life that I enjoy very much. I like instructing and I prefer a close bond with my students. I have a saying that, if you come everyday, do what I say, then you will make an "A". It’s that simple. Prosperity is on its way with this Associates of Applied Science degree under your belt. I would also encourage you to continue pursuing a college education. I have never met a single person that said, "I wish I had not gone to college", but I have met many that wish they had!
